Sedaris has appeared in the picture show Elf, The School of Rock, and Maid in Manhattan and most recently in the film version of Bewitched also starring Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman. Sedaris is before long to star in the film adaptation of Unknown by using Confect when Jerri Blank. She also co-authored Incident at Kobblers Knob which was presented and produced by David Rockwell at the Lincoln Center Festival .

Sedaris appears inside many episodes of Monk.

Amy Sedaris swallow her pet rabbit Dusty along using her notional swainside, Ricky, in Greenwich Village, though on the recent episode of The Late Show with David Letterman, she claimed Ricky had "died".
